In the process of making the knife and fork, in order to make the surface of the knife and fork look more exquisite and beautiful, we usually use the electroplating process to coat the surface of the knife and fork with a protective film. In addition to making the knife and fork look more textured, this protective film can reduce the wear of the knife and fork to extend its service life. The following is a brief introduction to the plating process.
The electroplating process is a method of laying a layer of metal on a conductor by the principle of electrolysis. Electroplating refers to a surface processing method in which a pre-plated metal is used as a cathode in a salt solution containing a pre-plated metal, and a pre-plated cation in the plating solution is deposited on the surface of the base metal by electrolysis to form a plating layer.
The coating properties are different from the base metal and have new features. According to the function of the coating, it is divided into the protective coating, decorative coating, and other functional coatings.
During electroplating, a plated metal or other insoluble material is used as an anode, and a workpiece to be plated is used as a cathode, and a cation of the plated metal is reduced on the surface of the workpiece to be plated to form a plating layer. It can enhance the corrosion resistance of metals (the corrosion-resistant metal is mostly used for plating metals), increase the hardness, prevent wear, improve conductivity, smoothness, heat resistance and surface appearance.
Generally, it includes three stages of pre-plating pretreatment, electroplating and post-plating treatment.
Complete process:
1.Pickling → full plate plating
Copper→Graphic transfer→Acid degreasing→Secondary countercurrent rinsing→Micro-etching→Secondary→Pickling→Tinning→Secondary countercurrent rinsing
2.Countercurrent rinsing → pickling → pattern electroplating copper → secondary countercurrent rinsing → nickel plating → secondary washing → immersion citric acid → gold plating → recycling → 2-3 grade pure water washing → drying
Plastic shell plating process:

There are many technical problems encountered in the electroplating process, but as the cutlery manufacturers technology matures, these technical problems are also solved by the technicians one by one. After the complicated electroplating process, the gloss, smoothness and wear resistance of the knife and fork have been greatly improved. Therefore, the electroplating process is indispensable in the process of producing the cutlery.
